Michelle Covert, CDPSE, CISM, CISA, SILA-F, is currently the Governance, Risk & Compliance Manager for Vertafore. She’s a cybersecurity and strategy enthusiast, who enjoys mentoring individuals interested in information risk management, regulatory compliance, and security technologies. She cut her teeth in the IT Industry more than a decade ago as a customer service representative for Vertafore. She’s demonstrated her aptitude to quickly learn new technology and leadership skills, having managed both the Government Services and Production Operations Teams.

To better understand the laws and regulations of business organizations, liability, insurance, and security, she attended Western Michigan University – Cooley Law School receiving her Juris Doctor (JD), while further growing her career with Vertafore. Her passion to mitigate the ever-present insider threat and involvement with ISACA International’s SheLeadsTech presented her with an opportunity to publish in the United States Cybersecurity Magazine. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering with the Securities and Insurance Licensing Association (SILA) and other local community groups that provide services to low-income families.
