The SILA Foundation Board Nominating Committee is accepting nominations through August 10 for the following Board positions. Terms will run January 2019 – December 2020 (2 years).

Join us for a FREE educational webinar presented by Daniel Herb and Josh Maddox. This presentation will discuss current trends in use by the average fraudster and will also dive into the new technologies that are currently being utilized by sophisticated fraudsters. The focus will be on financial exploitation/scams but the tactics discussed could potentially be used in other business sectors as well.
Daniel Herb has been working with Nationwide Financial since 2014 in various roles starting in the Public Sector Retirement Plans Contact Center. His current role is a Regulatory Support Operations, Senior Analyst with a primary focus on fraud prevention and detection. He attended Kent State University and Franklin University in his pursuit of a BS Business Administration.
Daniel served 6 years in the United States Army National Guard with the 1486th Transportation unit out of Mansfield, OH. Daniel has worked in the fraud prevention industry for over 6 years. He currently holds a Series 6 license, has completed the Associate, Secure, Retirement Institute (ASRI) designation and is making strides towards the Fellow, Secure Retirement Institute (FSRI) designation and the Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) designation.
Josh Maddox has been an Associate at Nationwide for almost 5 years and is a 3rd generation Nationwider. He started in the Public Sector Retirement Plans contact center where he gained knowledge around the financial industry and various retirement accounts associated with those employed by government entities. In 2016, he obtained a position on the Regulatory Support Operations team where he focused half his time on audits and half investigating fraud, his primary focus now is fraud detection, investigation, and prevention.
Josh graduated from Bowling Green State University where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies with focuses in Philosophy, Sociology, History, and Political Science. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout at 15, holds a Series 6 license, and is currently working to obtain the Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) designation. Outside of work, Josh is a local Columbus Commissioner and can usually be found renovating his home, attending a car show, or playing with his 1 year old Golden Retriever.

Joe received a B.A. in Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a J.D. from the American University’s Washington College of Law.
